What Are Holding Costs?

Holding costs are the total expenses of maintaining an open position beyond intraday. They include:

• Spread — The bid/ask difference (one-time, at open)
• Swap/rollover — Daily interest charge or credit
• Commission — Broker’s per-trade fee
